Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Contentualize is currently in private beta. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it today, and may change as the app evolves — check back before public launch.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account and use Contentualize, we collect:
- Account information — the email address or phone number and display name associated with your sign-in, provided through our authentication provider.
- Profile information — optional details you choose to share, such as age range and gender, used to tailor recommendations.
- Content activity — the titles you rate, swipe, mark as seen, or add to your watchlist, across movies, TV, books, and podcasts.
- Social content — posts, comments, and votes you make within Circles or similar community features.
- Device and usage data — basic technical information (device type, app version, crash logs) collected automatically to help us fix bugs and improve stability during the beta.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Create and secure your account, and let you sign in across devices.
- Build and improve your personalized recommendations and daily discovery deck.
- Operate social features like Circles, including showing your posts and comments to other users you interact with.
- Diagnose bugs, monitor app stability, and prioritize what to fix or build next during the beta.
- Contact you with occasional updates about the app — never spam, and you can opt out at any time.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers who help us run the app — for example, our authentication provider (for sign-in) and cloud hosting infrastructure — bound to use your data only to provide those services.
- Other users, limited to what you choose to post publicly within social features like Circles (your display name, posts, and comments).
- Legal authorities, only if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data retention and deletion
We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active, so your recommendations and watchlist stay intact. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us below — we'll remove your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required for legal or security purposes.
5. Children's privacy
Contentualize is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
6. Changes to this policy
As Contentualize moves from private beta toward public launch, this policy may be updated to reflect new features or legal requirements. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify beta users directly.
